We didn’t set out to build a candy company. We were seeking JOY.

We're Amy & Joey Wonka. We're grandparents, entrepreneurs and proud to be Okie's that make nostalgic, old fashioned candy.
OUR BELIEFS
That everyone deserves LOVE, JOY & a second chance. Because we got one. Again & again.
OUR MISSION
We make candy to fund second chances.

The Yellow Belt Story

When Amy was 9, she wore a yellow belt on her head to school because she thought it looked cool.

Then came the weird looks from the important people.

She remembers realizing, maybe for the first time, that being fully yourself could make other people uncomfortable. And like so many of us do, she internalized it. Maybe being me is too much. Maybe I should fit in.

Years later, after walking through severe depression, anxiety and addiction together with Joey, they were both given a second chance at life.

And that little girl with the yellow belt started to mean something different.

Be yourself anyway. Choose joy anyway. Love people anyway.

Yellow Belt Joy Co. was built on what Amy and Joey now know firsthand:

Everyone deserves LOVE.

Everyone deserves JOY.

Everyone deserves a SECOND CHANCE.

Because we got one. đź’›

The Life That Looked Successful

For years, we built brands, grew businesses, spoke on stages, and helped other people chase their dreams.
We were incredibly grateful for that season, and it changed our lives in so many ways. But somewhere along the road, success slowly became heavier than joy. We found ourselves asking a question that changed everything:
What if we don't need something bigger… but something truer?

Bread Changed Everything...

Before there was candy, there was Sourdough

First Comes Sourdough...
A few years ago, we started baking sourdough. At first it was just a hobby. Then we started giving loaves away to friends, marketing clients, neighbors, and complete strangers. Something beautiful happened. People didn't remember the business & marketing conversations. They remembered the bread. They felt seen. We realized food has a way of saying,"You matter. I love you." Then Joey Wonka's feed turned to candymaking- and he was "hooked" hahahahhahaah

Sometimes God answers prayers by changing the question.

We finally found what we were made to build.
Therapy, reading & connection taught us how to heal. Prayer taught us how to trust. Recovery taught us that identity isn't earned. And somewhere in all of that... Amy had a vision she couldn't shake. Not another agency. Not another strategy. A candy company. One built around delight instead of deadlines. Around family instead of hustle. Around craftsmanship instead of constant growth. Around hope, legacy & joy. We're each other's second spouse, have a bleanded family of 5 kids and 4 incredible grandkids- who help us with TIKTOK & YouTube. Go follow us!
Order Candy
We make old fashioned caramel, chocloates & hand-pull hard candy in Oklahoma one batch at a time. Every flavor is made by people, not machines. Every order is packed by our family. Every piece is our way of helping someone celebrate the JOY worth celebrating.
