The Yellow Belt Story
When Amy was 9, she wore a yellow belt on her head to school because she thought it looked cool.
Then came the weird looks from the important people.
She remembers realizing, maybe for the first time, that being fully yourself could make other people uncomfortable. And like so many of us do, she internalized it. Maybe being me is too much. Maybe I should fit in.
Years later, after walking through severe depression, anxiety and addiction together with Joey, they were both given a second chance at life.
And that little girl with the yellow belt started to mean something different.
Be yourself anyway. Choose joy anyway. Love people anyway.
Yellow Belt Joy Co. was built on what Amy and Joey now know firsthand:
Everyone deserves LOVE.
Everyone deserves JOY.
Everyone deserves a SECOND CHANCE.
Because we got one. đź’›
